YOUR FIRST VISIT

Visiting a church for the first time can be intimidating...

...especially if it’s been a while, or if you’re going somewhere you don’t know. You may be wondering where to park, what to wear, when to show up, what the service is like, and what to do with your kids.

We understand that. And we want to make your first visit to Calvary Baptist Church simple, comfortable, and low-pressure. If you decide to come, you’ll be greeted, shown where to go if you need help, and welcomed as a guest. We won’t ask you to stand, introduce yourself, or do anything that puts you on the spot. You can sit wherever you like. If you’re visiting for the first time, you don’t have to do anything special—just come in, find a seat, and let us help you from there.

Below are a few quick answers that may help you feel more at ease before you arrive:

Directions + Parking

We’re located on River Road, about two miles from the I-310 Luling exit. You can park in front of the building, and we also have additional parking behind the church.

When you come in, you’ll be greeted and pointed in the right direction—whether you’re heading into the sanctuary, looking for a restroom, or asking about children’s classes.

When Should I Arrive?

Sunday School starts at 10:00am and the Morning Worship service at 11:00am. We’d love for you to attend both, but if 11:00am is what works best for you, you’re welcome to come for the main service only.

Most people arrive 10-15 minutes before service begins.

What About My kids?

We’re glad to have children at Calvary Baptist Church.

During Sunday School (10:00 AM), we have age-based classes:

Nursery (0–4)

Primary (4–8)

Juniors (8–11)

Teens (12–18)

The nursery is also available during the 11:00 AM Morning Worship service, so you have that option both hours.

And just so you know—nothing is required. If you’d rather keep your child with you in the service, that’s completely fine.

If you want to ask questions ahead of time (or when you arrive), we’ll be happy to help you figure out what’s best for your family.

What's the service like?

Our services are simple and traditional: singing, prayer, and Bible preaching/teaching. The main thing we want is for you to feel welcome and able to follow along without already knowing “how it works.”

How should I dress?

There’s no dress code for guests or members. Many folks wear traditional “Sunday” clothes, but you’ll also see people dressed more casually. The main thing is that you feel comfortable and welcome—come as you are.

Are there services at other times?

Yes.

Sunday Evening Service: 5:00 PM

Wednesday Bible Study: 7:00 PM

If you can’t make it Sunday morning, we’d still love to have you join us at another service time.

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. Guests are not expected to give. We’re glad you’re here, and we want your visit to be a blessing with no pressure.

If there’s something we didn’t cover here, feel free to contact us, or just ask someone when you arrive. Whether you’re new to the area, looking for a church home, or simply thinking about visiting again after a long time away—we’d be glad to have you with us.

We hope to meet you soon.
